Member in Training (MIT) Program
The MIT program is for those who have taken the necessary steps towards becoming a member and are accepted to extend their personal skills and experience to prepare for the GSAR course. The MIT program is a 8 week training program designed to give you the skills to become a member of a ground search team. It is also used to evaluate potential full GSAR members. After completing this program, you will be out on some tasks and training with the team, until the GSAR program starts.
Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) Program
The GSAR program is a 7 month training program. This will give you the skills required to be a full active GSAR member on ground search an rescue operations. It covers all the fundamentals of Search and Rescue, ICS, Rope work, and much more! GSAR is the first step in training towards specialized rescue and Team leadership Roles.
