Lou was the first President of Arrowsmith Search and Rescue Society. We're sorry to hear of his passing, and give our deepest condolences to all of his friends and family. Thank you, Lou for your great service to our community. It is with sadness that we announce that Lou Biggemann passed away on January 16, 2023. Lou came to Parksville as S/Sgt. in charge of the RCMP detachment in 1974. Lou was the first manager of the Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce, hired in 1985 and retired in 2000. His friendly, outgoing personality made him a great ambassador for our community, going on the road to travel shows in Alberta and Washington with Stewart Moore, the Qualicum Beach Chamber manager. He grew the Chamber very successfully and was instrumental on the building committee for the current Chamber office; he even laid the tile in the office with John World. He always gave 100% and his family was often drafted or “voluntold” to help with Chamber barbecues, Fantasy Auctions and whatever was needed. He was a past President of the BC Chamber of Commerce Executives and was respected and liked wherever he went. There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, January 24, 11:00 am at the Church of the Ascension, 887 Wembley Road, Parksville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arrowsmith Search and Rescue Society, of which he was a member and instructor for many years. ... See MoreSee Less

My sincere condolences

🙏Thoughts and Prayers🙏

A really nice man who really cared!

RIP Lou

Condolences to the family and colleagues

So sorry for your loss I nothing but good memories of Lou ❤️

Sincere condolences to Lou’s family; they gave Lou the opportunity to step out and shine for Parksville while giving away that personal time for themselves. Working as a federal government rep I spent some time over the years with Lou as he secured subsidized summer help for the Chamber over the years, and he was always good to work with, he always had Parksville’s best interest at heart, and always also had a smile on his face.

My condolences
